I’ve been writing about food and the people who prepare it for 25 years.  I still find it hard to believe that I am able to  earn a living as a professional eater.

My articles appear in local, regional, and national publications and on a variety of websites. I’ve won numerous journalism awards from The Press Club of Cleveland and the  Ohio Society of Professional Journalists.  I’m especially proud that  my work was selected for Best Food Writing, an annual anthology featuring writers from around the country, in 2004, 2006, and 2008 . I am a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and the Cleveland chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.

I am married to Cleveland photographer Barney Taxel. We share meals and good times with our three grown and always hungry sons, Ezra Taxel, a local product and furniture designer, Nathan Taxel, an Outdoor Education Coordinator and Science Instructor at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and Simon Taxel, paramedic and crew chief in Pittsburgh.
